For the first time in Hungary, the works of twenty-six graphic artists from nine Latin American countries - Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay – will be on display!
Some 180 pieces of art, the exhibition material of the Latin American House in Paris, will arrive at the Pécs Gallery on the occasion of the Tango Festival!
The carnival of original graphics and posters flashes the colours of a distant world full of emotions. The coexistence of the untamed celebration of life and the the shadows and finality of life, the expression of strong political opinion, the Latin American world view and philosophy of life are revealed in dazzling colours in the various graphic works, be they theatrical or movie posters, book illustrations or graphic-art pieces.
The artists exhibited include individual creators and groups of artists who will also present themselves in the installation venue evoking the authentic Latin atmosphere of the countries involved.
Curators of the exhibition: Michel Bouvet, a French graphic artist who has worked regularly in Latin American countries for almost thirty years as an exhibitor, curator, jury member of the International Graphic Biennale, and Daniel Lefort, Central American, Paraguayan, Peruvian and Uruguayan Cultural consultant for France.
The exhibition was first held at the House of Latin America in Paris in 2019.
It can be viewed in the Pécs Gallery from 17 September -14 November 2021.
